How long does installation take?
Business
Installation generally takes 2-5 hours for business internet services - depending on your location and type of installation required.

We can usually install services within 1-5 days from when we receive a complete order from you. Special circumstances may delay service provisioning, such as some complex dedicated high-speed connections, difficult installation environments, etc.

Residential
Residential fiber internet can typically be installed within 1-2 weekdays from your order submission.
How can I qualify for free installation?
Business
Some of our internet service plans include free standard installation when a 2-year or 3-year service agreement is signed. Extra setup or installation fees may apply for shorter service agreement terms, or in situations where our standard installation would not work.

All new residential fiber internet services include free installation.

Technical (6)

What other networks is Tekify Fiber & Wireless directly peered with?
Tekify Fiber & Wireless has an open peering policy. We interconnect (peer) our network directly with any other networks that are willing to do so. Doing so reduces latency, increases reliability, and increases redundancy from our network to any networks that we have establised direct peering with, and therefore to the customers and services hosted by those networks. Here is a short list of the networks we are directly peered with:

Tekify Fiber & Wireless is also a member of the San Francisco Metropolitan Internet Exchange (SFMix.org) and the Bay Area AMS-IX Internet Exchange (bay.ams-ix.net). We indirectly peer with many more participants who are also a part of this internet exchange point. These additional indirect peering relationships can be viewed here: SFMix Participants.
What does the Guaranteed Speed (in Mbps) mean?
The "Guaranteed Speed" or "Minimum Speed" refers to the minimum rate of bandwidth you will be able to transmit and receive at any given time using your Tekify Fiber & Wireless internet service. Most (though not all) plans include this metric.
What does the Burst Speed (in Mbps) mean?
The "Burst Speed" or "Maximum Speed" refers to the maximum rate of bandwidth you will be able to transmit and receive at any given time using your Tekify Fiber & Wireless internet service. This extra speed is made available to you when extra network capacity exists within our network.
What is Tekify Fiber & Wireless' policy for Network Management?
In order to ensure transparency with our customers, we're providing our network transparency information here for review.

Protocol Prioritization: Tekify prioritizes VoIP-related traffic in order to ensure proper operation. All other customer traffic is treated the same on our network - that is to say that we don't prioritze one protocol or service above any other.

Circuit Prioritization: Tekify prioritizes circuits on the network according to the SLA attached to each circuit. Circuits with an Enterprise SLA are given first priority on our network, with Basic SLA and then Residential circuits following. This only applies to any link or connection during periods of network congestion.

Firewalling: Tekify does not firewall or block any ports (except as required to prevent damage to our network).
Do I need to provide my own router?
Business
Yes. All customers will need to provide their own router for use with our internet service. This router should be a mid-grade router capable of handing the bandwidth that we are providing. Low-end cheap routers are not recommended. Routers with built-in Cable or DSL modems will not work with our service.

Residential
Residential customers have the option of either providing their own router to use with our service, or adding a Tekify-provided router to their monthly service plan for a small additional fee.
What is the fastest internet service Tekify can provide?
Business
The fastest standardized internet service plan we sell is our Enterprise (dedicated) 1,000/1,000Mbps. This is a very fast plan for large business customers.

We are able to offer plans ranging from 10Mbps to 10Gbps on customized plans. Please let us know what type of service you're looking for and we can customize a plan to meet your needs.

Residential
Our residential fiber services are available at speeds up to 1,000Mbps (1 Gigabit). Other speeds are also available.
